結合柔術

Jujutsu in general is thought to have developed in the Japanese battle fields back when warfare involved swords and armor.

When the swords became useless for one reason or another, there was need for unarmed combat methods.

Punching and kicking were not so effective against armored bodies, but throwing and damaging the joints were, to make the enemy unable to continue the battle.

And the one performing such techniques, also being in armor, were not necessarily "light" or "mobile".

Therefore, efficiency to get the maximum effect with minimum energy consumption was the key, and "Ju" part of Jujutsu literally means "soft", most likely for this reason.

This is how jujutsu developed, and many of its techniques are therefore when performed correctly, should be very easy(effortless), and yet quite damaging to the opponent(high effect).

But when is comes to learning and practicing Jujutsu, the natural and quite obvious dilemma is exactly HOW to practice with your practicing partners.  If it is so damaging, it is inevitable that your practicing partners as well as yourself, get injured.

And that is what indeed still happens in many schools, even today.

Our style of Ketsugo Jujutsu is quite unique in the way that we practice in a very safe way, keeping "no one gets seriously hurt" design a priority.

And yet, students can learn very effective techniques.  As they get better, they will see more and more just how effective they can be.

Another unique aspect of Ketsugo Jujutsu is that we really do not have a "set technique" or routine that we practice.  We emphasize learning the concepts, and each student can then apply that concept to fit his or her body structure or likes/dislikes.  Human creativity is amazing, and students come up with VERY interesting and effective techniques on their own...now if THAT is not ART, I really do not know what is!!
